Stubborn weight that won't come off
You're doing the work and the scale won't move. That's a medical signal worth investigating — not a willpower problem.
Overview
When weight gain doesn't match effort, we look for what's actually blocking loss: insulin resistance, thyroid dysfunction, low testosterone, cortisol, or medication side effects. If a GLP-1 is clinically appropriate after that workup, we prescribe it as one tool among several.
What we look at
Signals, not guesses.
- Fasting insulin + HbA1c
- Full thyroid panel
- Testosterone (men and women)
- Lipids + ApoB
How we approach it
The workflow.
- 01First visit to understand history + current effort.
- 02Metabolic + hormone labs.
- 03Decision on medication (including GLP-1s) is based on labs, not on a checkbox.
- 04Ongoing follow-up while on therapy.
